Coffee Table Makeover

Found this one in a back alley - for real lol.
Then I kept in my basement for a year - because....umm..
In the mean time - I have an glass Ikea coffee table and I'm soooo sick of it!

1. I thought it would get better with age
2. I thought it would fix itself
3. Because...I'm a little bit of a procrastinator

If you guessed #3 you might be right!

I painted the skirt and legs with ASCP Old White
and the top with Duck Egg and then clear and dark waxed
the whole thing...

Much prettier - and a little beachy! I'm gonna keep this one for awhile!

What did you paint this weekend?

Market Recap

The Olde Farmhouse Market was a huge success -
both for me personally and the show as a whole!

Barb and Leah did an amazing job - you would have never known this was the first time they hosted a vintage market! They were wonderful hosts - always making sure everyone was happy and even helping others set up and take down!

Stephanie of Retrospect Photography was our official photographer of the day - and did a beautiful job of capturing the vintage flavor!

These flowers were from my own garden the morning of the show and made a great compliment to the silver teapots I had for sale.

These boots were NOT made for walking - they were made for sitting, and getting your picture taken! They`re cute but not meant for standing on concrete all day!
This photo was taken by Dina Stoddard at Klutch Photography.

Now - for the good part...want to see my favorite purchase of the day!?
THIS IS MY NEW BIKE!!! I LOVE IT!!! I've already ridden it - right from the booth I bought it from all the way down the barn to my booth!
There are no brakes...but if you have seen me drive - it doesn't really matter cause it couldn't get much worse lol.

Wanna see the picture I always have in my head when I see a bike like this?

I know you think it's probably this:

But it's not - it's this!

I don't know why but as I ride I pretend I look like this....just a weird, random childhood memory I guess...hahahahhaa

I love my new bike! What is your favorite market purchase?

This little piggy is goes to market

It's setup day for The Olde Farmhouse Vintage Market!

I say - this little piggy goes to market because
I eat really badly on market weekends lol.

The van is packed and I am pretty sure I will be making three trips today...
sooo many goodies!

Here are a few items I wanted to share with you this morning that are going to market!
Antique Brass Bed - It's a double - perfect for kids rooms or smaller guest rooms!

Typewriter planter - soooo much cuter than a pot!

This cute little beach towel sign - perfect for the cabin!

Nest chair - comfy and a conversation piece!

Vintage vagabond trunk - Paris Champs - Elysees.

Side tables - 2 available - Old White and Paris Grey -
the perfect compliment to any decor!

Paris trunk - looks great on top of any armoire!

Adorable butter cream colored vintage shelf!

Beautiful green glass carboy - lovely!

1902 Oil painting - stunning frame!

The market is tomorrow June 23rd from 9 am to 4 pm at the
Albion Fairgrounds in Maple Ridge.
I hope to see you there - if you follow my blog please introduce yourself as I love to be able to put a face to the comments!
Have a wonderful weekend!

June 19, 2012

So, four more sleeps until
The Olde Farmhouse Vintage Market
so things are in high gear around here!

Unfortunately it was one of those days where I seem to run around starting projects and end the day with all of them in various stages of "almost done".

Which is ok - because that means that tomorrow will be a day where I hopefully get to add lots to the "finished" pile!

Here is a sneak peek of what I am working on for the weekend...
This first one was an accidental great find by one of my girl friends!

She sent me this picture by IPhone while out thrifting,
asking me if I wanted this
 table and chairs.

I didn't want them but do you see what I see!?
HINT - look to the left!

OH YA!! Now we're talkin!

I was a little worried about that design on the glass as I've never dealt with that before...thankfully it is easy to remove with a razor blade. Now I know.

The lovely green velvet is also on it's way out...

Thankfully it was also easy to remove.

So now, the paint is drying as you read this and it's in the half done pile...
so check back tomorrow to see the finished product -
one more look at the before...

There's also this little project in the half done pile...

Check back tomorrow to see what the screwdriver is for...

Hope it turns out now that I've posted this...yikes!

What are you working on this week?

Sun Sand and Summer

As promised,
here are a couple of little items that will be available in my booth at
The Olde Farmhouse Market this weekend...

Maybe it's because we haven't had much of a spring/summer so far...just alot of rain, but I am totally loving the whole summer, beach, cottage theme right now.

It somehow makes me feel better!

See you this weekend...don't worry the market is indoors!

Sale Day Fun

Yard Sale Recap -
It was sooo fun! NO RAIN!!
But some cold temperatures - Charlie and Breanne both hung out in their furs!!
Just trying to keep warm!

I got to meet alot of blog followers, visit with other bloggers and vendors from past and future vintage markets and also spend time with my besties!

Some of the more popular items went right away!
Like this Typewriter planter by Joanna!

And our beach themed section was a big hit too!

I bought this one - so it's staying right here in my yard...love it!

Love this little addition to my retaining wall too!

Chalk board trays are always a hit!

Thanks to everyone who came out and helped my declutter - it was a really fun day!
Enjoy your Sunday!
